How We Brew Beer

Paul began brewing in his shed back in 1999, before setting up the first brewhouse in 2002 inside the new Holgate Brewhouse (on the site of the old Keatings Hotel). The Holgate hotel and accommodation still operate on the site, and brewing continues in the original brewhouse.

In 2018 a state-of-the-art Braukon Brewhouse was installed in the newly built brewery at the rear of the hotel. This fully automated 50hL brewhouse has a brewlength of 5,000 litres, coupled with a fermentation cellar of 3 x 25hL, 6 x 50hL, 4 x 100hL and 4 x 200hL vessels, and a packaging cellar of 50hL, 200hL and 400hL Bright Tanks. We can package in keg, bottles and cans.
